Young adults preparing for their first apartment will have an opportunity to gain practical guidance this spring through an upcoming event hosted by The BEcome Project.
The organization is hosting Adulting 101: Renters Bootcamp on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 2810 12 Stones Road, Bel Air, Maryland.
The event is promoted with the message: Get Apartment-Ready. Get Money-Smart. Get Confident.
This free interactive bootcamp is designed specifically for 18 to 25 year olds and will focus on practical topics including how to qualify for an apartment, what landlords expect, and how to avoid costly financial mistakes.
Attendees will also receive lunch, and the event will include raffles and giveaways.
In addition, the flyer highlights a bonus Financial Realty Fair by APGFCU, giving participants access to additional financial information and resources connected to renting and financial readiness.
The BEcome Project is a program of KBM Community Development Corporation. According to its website, the organization focuses on empowering young women ages 18 to 25 who have aged out of foster care or have foster care experience.
The group works to provide support, opportunities, and resources that help participants move toward stability and success.
Learning practical life skills such as housing readiness, budgeting, and navigating adulthood can make a major difference for young adults entering a new stage of life. Community-based programs that offer this kind of support help create stronger futures and greater confidence.
