Have a Say in How Harford County Invests Community Funding

Harford County’s Department of Housing and Community Services Office of Drug Control Policy is hosting a Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday February 18 2026 from 10 AM until 12 PM. The event is designed to help residents community organizations and stakeholders understand how CRRF grant funds are being used to support local initiatives that benefit communities across the county.

The Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund or CRRF is funded through a portion of cannabis tax revenue generated in Maryland. The fund was created after Maryland voters approved the legalization of adult use cannabis in 2022 and Harford County passed legislation outlining how the money may be spent. CRRF money is intended to support community based initiatives serving low income communities and areas with higher rates of cannabis prohibition enforcement identified by the Maryland Office of Social Equity.

During the virtual town hall speakers will provide an overview of how the CRRF grant funding is being invested locally and feature presentations from current CRRF awardees. This is an opportunity for people to learn how projects that received funding are supporting community needs and to ask questions about the funding process.

The Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund has already supported a number of local programs through grant awards that invest cannabis tax revenue back into communities. Funding has gone to youth mentoring education wellness workforce readiness and neighborhood revitalization projects as part of Harford County’s effort to strengthen community services and opportunities.

People who want to participate in shaping how CRRF funds are used in the future can attend the virtual town hall to learn and provide input. By bringing together residents nonprofit groups and county leaders this event aims to promote transparency and community involvement in public investments that support local growth and equity.

The event will be held online and participants may register and access the virtual link by visiting the CRRF page on the Harford County Government website. Residents with questions may also call 410‑638‑3333 for more information.
